Inmate Information
Look up information about a person in custody.
The Department handles inmate information requests in line with the Corrections Act and the Data Protection Act. Most requests are made by family members, legal representatives, or government agencies.
Who can request information
- Immediate family members of the person in custody.
- The individual's legal representative.
- Authorised government agencies (Jamaica Constabulary Force, Ministry of Justice).
- The individual themselves (post-release).
How to make a request
- Visit the headquarters at 5–7 King Street, Kingston, between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM Monday to Friday, or contact our records team by phone.
- Bring valid government-issued photo ID and documentation of your relationship to the individual (e.g. birth certificate, marriage certificate, legal authorisation).
- Complete the Information Request form. Requests are normally processed within 5–10 working days.
